I am not alone……

September 7, 2010

I think you should know I am being stalked.

By this.

Wiki says, “Ganesha is Vighneshvara or Vighnaraja, the Lord of Obstacles, both of a material and spiritual order. He is popularly worshipped as a remover of obstacles”  “Ganesha is considered to be the Lord of letters and learning” “and the primal sound of Om”

OK, but 4 times in less than a week? In a book, in a movie, in a conversation and on TV. Do you think someone is trying to get my attention?

Hello out there, I have no knowledge of Hindu, Sanskrit, or Buddhism. I grew up Presbyterian and lukewarm at that. However it should be noted that I do love me an elephant. Other girls may have loved dolphins and unicorns, I like elephants. As far as Ganesha is concerned I once knew a little girl who was supposed to be the reincarnation of him, it (?) and would spend Saturdays doling out advice to seekers, at 4 years old.  Yes this is true and no we all thought it odd. Very.

Reading up on his lord I find the best description of a god’s becoming out there, he was formed by the laughter of his mother, which is much better that the other versions but in all of them he is decapitated as a baby. This decapitation should get every mother harassed about her son’s bris off the hook. Decapitation trumps circumcision every time.

The god of letters and learning. This too is in my favor, and yours if it means my posts get better, and my spelling and grammar  improves.

The sound of Om. This is the second best part. Om is the primal sound. It is supposed to vibrate and energize your internal organs, so says the man who’s yoga I do.  I once drove in a car for 2 hours with my mother and sister Omming to get my daughter to quit crying. I kid you not. Palm Springs to home. You too can rent or purchase Wayne Dyer’s cd and try it for yourself. It did not stop the crying but our internal organs were spiffy. I cannot Om with out grinning, as a result I look un-pious at the end of yoga. And I am sore so that doesn’t help either, from yoga not omming.

But the bestest, the bestest, is the deity is a remover of obstacles. He/it (?)  could be my own personal bulldozer of physical , emotional and  spiritual detritus ( which recently I found  I have mispronounced for years [its dee-try-tus]). This I could get behind. Thank you very much. Remove away.
