Mother’s Day

May 8, 2011

Happy Mother’s Day. I was awoken late this morning by a lovely tray of oatmeal, toast  and coffee, flowers, cards and handmade gifts. I hope your morning was as wonderful.

Happy Auction day is over and that my children let me sleep in after a very very late night. Happy Mother’s day indeed.

The day and the action moved so fast I have blisters on the bottom of my feet. Could also have been the dancing.

I wish I had taken pictures. I know someone did because I smiled and posed with friends a lot.

What I do have, are pics of are the centerpieces.

My brain has turned to slush so bear with me.
Here is a, ahem, a dull didactic tutorial for how to make centerpieces for 16 tables, that will be auction items, and reflect the “theme” of starfish, sort of.

First you need containers. I used a mixture of both terrarium and open bowl/trays.

Pick out plants you like. I used as many succulents that had an underwater vibe as I could.

Others were simply chosen for texture, color and shape.

Be prepared, its a good trait to have.

Fill container with gravel, dirt and sand mixture , save decorative stones for later.

Thus you will have.

These are really beautiful, I’m much impressed. Am I getting one for Mother’s Day???
You can add FLorist to your many accomplishments.
Hope your feet feel better soon. I bet it would help if Coach rubbed them with a bit of lotion…shall I call him and suggest it?
